PUPNAT
Pupnat is a small village at the island of Korcula, in Croatia.
The village is located on the regional road that is connecting Island's eastern and western coasts.
The population of Pupnat is just under 500 inhabitants which make it the smallest village on Korcula.
According to some interpreters, te name Pupnat derives from "pampinata" aka vine leaves.
Location of the Pupnat was chosen by its settlers in the hilly part of the island not to be noticed from the sea and in this way Pupnat was through the centuries protected from pirates.
